    WHISKEY - SCOTLAND

Matured in port barrels, if Port Ruighe presents Talisker in a more sophisticated light than usual, on the other hand, this version has many arguments to please lovers of lightly peated, spicy and smoky single malts from the islands. Its balance, its malty and fruity character are other very interesting facets of its personality.

Nose: warm, heady. The spices and peat of Talisker are coated by black fruits (grape, blackberry). The malted barley is nestled just behind. It serves as a support for the aromatic palette. Its chocolate and liquorice sweetness is particularly mellow. A hint of salt lingers around the circumference of this balanced nose.

Mouth: creamy, downy. Black fruits dominate the very beginning of the attack on the palate. They fade away to give way to the peat (soft), salt and spices (pepper, nutmeg). Like the nose, the whole thing does not lack balance either. The mid-palate sees the reigning sensation of sweetness intensify. However, it becomes more bitter (lemon, grapefruit) and camphorous.

Finish: soft, silky. In turn medicinal (balm, castor), it is at the same time tenderly earthy and delicious (chocolate éclair). Fruits are then making a comeback: we find strawberries, raspberries, but also kiwis and persimmons. The retro olfaction is finely peaty and the empty glass hesitates between peat, barley porridge, fresh fruit and pencil lead.
